Cleansing Stones

Many people believe that by cleansing stones regularly – removing unwanted accumulated energies - you can ensure that their energetic properties remain vibrant and aligned with your spiritual intentions.

Some common methods for cleansing stones:

Sunlight or Moonlight Cleansing: Placing stones in direct sunlight or moonlight for a few hours can help cleanse them and recharge the stone’s energy. Some stones may fade or change color in direct sunlight - research the specific needs of each stone.
Water Cleansing: Place the stones under running water from a faucet or hold them in a natural stream or river. The flowing water helps purify the stones. Some stones may be damaged in water - research the water compatibility of each stone.

Smudging: Smudging with sage or palo santo is a traditional method of cleansing and purifying stones.

Sound Cleansing: Sound vibrations, using harmonious tones of bells, singing bowls, or other sound healing instruments, can be used to cleanse stones and restore the stone’s vitality.

Salt or Earth Cleansing: Placing stones on a bed of salt or burying them in the earth can help cleanse and recharge their energy. Please note: may damage jewelry and metals.
